The Pleiades

Maia is a fifteen year old loner investing all her time into building a spaceship to follow her dreams of flying to the star cluster "the seven sisters," also known as The Pleiades. Her escape will get her away from her current home-life and the perils of Earth. Oh yeah, Maia's also an alien. A species called Tuatarians landed on Earth almost two-decades ago, and haven't exactly been welcomed with open arms. Trying to save money, trying to not interact with her pregnant mother or her mother's current boyfriend, and trying to work with tools when she has two-inch long talons and no pinky, makes her hope the whole thing will be worth the payoff.
